Central to this enchanting landscape is a raised circular patio, carefully designed to house a bronze relief of the owner’s father. This patio is framed by an elegant arbor adorned with cascading wisteria, creating a serene and poignant tribute that blends seamlessly with the surrounding garden.

At the cottage’s entry, visitors are greeted by another beautifully crafted arbor, this one crowned with vibrant Lady Banks roses. The roses’ delicate, abundant blooms provide a welcoming and fragrant entryway, setting the tone for the garden’s blend of charm and sophistication.

A thoughtfully developed curving concrete walkway leads guests to the front door, complemented by a landing that adds both function and aesthetic appeal. The walkway’s gentle curves and smooth finish harmonize with the cottage’s historic character while offering a practical path through the garden.

To enhance sustainability and functionality, Groundswell installed a permeable gravel driveway. This environmentally friendly choice allows for natural water drainage while adding a rustic texture that fits the cottage’s timeless appeal. Flanking the driveway is a succulent garden, showcasing a variety of drought-tolerant plants that offer year-round interest with their unique forms and colors.
In the backyard, a rose garden flourishes below the lawn, creating a romantic and fragrant retreat. The carefully selected roses provide seasonal blooms and a classic touch that complements the cottage’s historic ambiance. Elsewhere in the garden, a Mediterranean plant palette thrives, featuring a mix of aromatic herbs, textured foliage, and vibrant flowers.
